Everyone is Welcome! All original sextet members were members of the First Presby- terian Church of Winfield. Their first singing engagement was at the Community Easter Sunrise Service at the Winfield Method- ist Church on April 11, 1982. Originally, they were called "The Women's Sextet." Then the title changed to "The Saintly Six," then "Saints We Ain't." Finally, after requesting ideas for a name for the group, the name ,Selah," a Hebrew word, was suggested and prayerfully chosen. The term "Selah" is a margin note in the Psalms. It has numerous meanings: an undefined musical term, to pause and reflect, lift up in praise, unison/unity and to medi- tate. It became their name in September of 1985. The group members have changed over the years; but two origi- nal members are still with the group. The sextet has been singing for 34 years now. God has continued to provide them with voices and blessed them with the gifts to share with their music with others.
