The bride elect is the daughter of Lyndon and Mattie Hershberg- er and the granddaughter of John and Sally Hershberger of Kalona and Clarence and Barbara Miller of Kalona. She is a 2012 graduate of Thomas Edison State College and is employed at Pathway Christian School. Her flanc is the son of Terry and Victoria Hagedorn and the grand- son of Marilyn and the late John Hagedorn of Ft. Collins, Colorado and the late Duane and Doris Martin. He will graduate from Mid-American Nazarene University after completing student teaching in the fall of 2014. He is currently employed by Kalonial Lawn Care. The wedding is set for the spring of 2014. ANNIVERSARY Yoders to celebrate 70th wedding anniversary Arnold and Lourene Yoder will celebrate their 70th wedding anni- versary. Arnold Yoder and Lourene Bachman were married September 5, 1943 in Manson, Iowa. They have lived in Holbrook, North English, Green Valley and in Iowa City for the past 43 years. They raised eight children: Don (Jane) Henson of Coto Paxi, Colorado, the late Gene (Bonnie) Yoder of Ft. Dodge, Emma Lee (Duane) Brenneman of Weil- man, James (Arlene) Yoder of Guffey, Colorado, Noreen (Stan) Yoder of Parnell, Reginald (Cheryne) Yoder of Iowa City, Steven (Pam) Yoder of Iowa City, and Cheri (Ed) Cole of Iowa City. They also have 19 grand- children; 25 great.grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren. They will celebrate with a family gathering. She is a graduate of Kirkwood Community College and a kindergarten teacher at Hillside Christian. Jane (Rotenburger) Shalla Reunion Held in Washington Descendants of John and Mary (Novy) Shalla held their annual re- union at Sunset Park on Sunday, August 25 th. Families enjoyed a pot- luck dinner. Displays included a 1939 newspaper report indicating that the John Shalla descendants owned 1500 acres in the Salem area of Jackson township. Linda Bonar shared maps that located these family farms. Pictures, family histories and other information from family members was also enjoyed.
