4' " "'' ' ....... , Esther ~ey Kenneth Rogers Wed September 14 Miss Esthm" Lemley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lemley, Riverside, became the bride of Kenneth Rogers, Iowa Cit~. S~t- urday, ~pl~mber 14, 195"/ at 9 a. m. in St. Patrick's church in Iowa CItT. The alter was decor- ated with baskets of mixed glad. ioU. ,Mr. is a son of ~Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rogem of 1015 Friend- ly ave.r Iowa City, The Rev. John J. Mar~in read the double ring ceremony in the presence of 200 guests. Ray. Wal" tar Boeckman, Riverside, was in the samctuary. St. Patrick~ choir sang traditional wedding songs. The bride escorted to the altar by her f~tther, ~om a gow~ of white nylon lace over ta~a. The fitted bodice had a sweetkem~ neckline and buttoned to the waist- line ja the back with tiny covered buttons. The Ion@ sleeves ended in bridal points at the wrist. The full: :skirt was ballerin~ length. 'Her ~in~ertip veil of silk flhmion was held with a band trimmed wi~ pe~rl~. She ,wore a heart- shaped rhinestone set necklace and earring, a gift of the bride- groom. She carried a white prayer book centered with red roses. Mrs. Elmer Sammons, Jr. was the bride's matron and wore a bal- lerina length dress of baby blue brocaded taffeta with large sleeves and low "V" shaped neck- line in front and back. The cum- murband and slippers were royal blare and her braided headband was white. She carried a colonial bouquet of red ~oees tied ~wlth a white ribbon. Bridesmaids .v~ere Constance RaSh of Iowa City, Judy Flym2 and Janice Wehmeyer, both o~ Ri~emide..Their dresses and flow- ers were identical to those worn and carried by the bride's matroh. Serving as but man was Harold Rogers, brother of the bridegroom. Other attendants ~ere Jerry Rog- ms, Larry Darker arid James Christianoom The ringhear~r was Tommy Krsn~. The men in the wedding party ,wore white dinner jackets, black trou~ere and blae~ bow ties and white,carnation ~ou- to~. ~u~bara ~ammo~, Riverside, a niece of the brida, wu flower gir~ wore a long skirted white dress of crystalhttte with a blue ~ash, headband am~ m4~tchin~ ~m- dale. She carried a basket of red roses. Acolytes were Maynard, and Larry Rogers, brothers of the bridegroom. M,rs. Lemley, mo~her of the :bride, wore a black dress with white accessories and a red ro~e eor~age. Mrs. Rogers, ~other of the bridegoom wore a dark green dress ~ith black accessories and :~ re~ rose corsage, Mrs. Esther .... Sharp, grandmother of the bride, wu attired in grey with black ~e~essories and a red' rose corsage. A wedding dinner wM hald at noon at the Lemley home for the immediate families following re- ception for 200 guests at ~g. Children from the entire district are transported to Wellman for these classes, two are from the Kalona a~a. This year, we are proud to an- nounce that we are operating $ rooms in the Mid-Prairie Reorgan- ized district for slow learners. The rooms are located at Wellman but children from the entire area a~ transported to ,these rooms.
