Classes at Pathway Christian School will be quite different this fall.

Pathway will be switching from their current individualized study curriculum to a more traditional classroom setting curriculum beginning in the 2018-19 school year.

“We’re going to maintain excellence in education,” Principal Lawrence Schlabach said. “We’ll change the focus more to critical thinking and thinking outside the box. This curriculum will allow for different styles of learning.”

The school, which enrolls 40 students pre-K through 12th grade, currently uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum, where students use workbooks to work at their own pace.

Schlabach said the school is switching to the Bob Jones University Press curriculum.

“We’ve always tried to put a student where they can succeed,” he said. “I think we can do that with the new curriculum also, but it’s going to turn into traditional classroom style teaching and learning.
