ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

With just 1:30 left in the game, Iowa Mennonite goalkeeper Blake Bontrager found himself on the goal line defending a penalty kick.

The game was tied 1-1 at that point between Iowa Mennonite and Iowa City Regina. With the game on the line, Bontrager made the save and Iowa Mennonite was able to clear the ball out and force the game into overtime.

Iowa Mennonite used the momentum from the Regina missed penalty to give their offense a shot of adrenaline.

In the first overtime with 3:53 left, Iowa Mennonite was awarded their own penalty kick. Isaiah Swantz put it in the back of the net and gave Iowa Mennonite the 2-1 win.

"This feels just amazing," Bontrager said of the win. "We've had a lot of confidence all season, so this feels great."

Iowa Mennonite's other goal came in the second half with just 13:19 remaining. A Swantz free kick from 10-yards out of the box was deflected off the goalkeeper to the foot of Cole Ours. Ours used his first touch to score.

Iowa City Regina's lone goal of the game came in the first half. Regina used a short corner set to cause some confusion on the side of Iowa Mennonite and Alec Wick headed it into the net.

The win moves Iowa Mennonite to 10-0 on the season. They play at Class 1A No. 3 Williamsburg on Monday.
