Last week, the Mid-Prairie School District rolled out their sleek, modern new website.

Mid-Prairie Learning Design Coach Frank Slabaugh said the website went live on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

“The District did research throughout last year on different companies and we started laying out the design for the site in May.”

Previously Mid-Prairie had gone through Edline to host their website, but are now using a company called Finalsite.

Slabaugh said he and Phyllis Casper, technology coordinator for the district worked together on the site to make it more visually appealing and easier to navigate.

“Phyllis did a ton of editing and laying out the site,” Slabaugh said. “Our old website wasn’t very visually appealing, had a lot of outdated information and it just wasn’t easy to find information on there in general.”

“The new site is much more visually appealing and we’ve tried to make information more accessible as well,” he said. “We have more options for integrating social media, and it’s much simpler to update the website now.”

Teachers, staff, and even some high school students were allowed to view the site before it went live and offer any suggestions they might have had. Now that the new website is up, Slabaugh said the district was looking for feedback from everyone.

“If anyone has any suggestions or feedback, we’ll continue to welcome that,” he said. “We want to make the site as accessible and user-friendly as possible.”
