The Eastern Iowa Sledheads announce the third annual Stumptown Tractor Ride and farmers supper which will be held on July 13 and 14.
To kick off the weekend, a farmers supper will be held Friday, July 13 with Jeff’s Market West Liberty serving the meal from 6-6:45 p.m. at Walker Park.
This year’s entertainment will be provided by Bob and Kristie Black and Bandjoy, a bluegrass band from North English.
The Friday night farmers supper and entertainment is open to the public. However, those wishing to attend should call for reservations by noon on July 2 to purchase meal tickets.
The cost for the farmers supper is $12 for adults; $8 for children 6-10; and $4 for ages 3-5.

The tractor ride will take place on Saturday, July 14. Tractors will begin leaving event host Joan Morgan’s residence at 8 a.m.
They will head east on Highway 22 to Lone Tree. While in Lone Tree the ride will follow Devoe Street to Pioneer Road and will go through the Care Center for the residents to enjoy. They will then head south on Wapsi Avenue turning right onto 245th Street to Kevin and Lynn Bell’s residence where the riders will enjoy their first break sponsored by Nichols Ag and provided by Kalona Kountry Katering from Conesville.
After break, the ride will go back to Wapsi Avenue then turn left onto G-28 to Highway 70. The tractors will then take Highway 70 through Conesville to Columbus Junction, turning right off Highway 70 onto Second Street.
At the Columbus Junction American Legion, the tractors will take a left and follow Locust Street to Main Street through downtown Columbus Junction back to Second Street, then right onto Gamble Street, back left onto Colton Street and Spring Street to Columbus City.
At the four-way stop, the tractors will turn right on Columbus Street past Plank Implement and then back right on Market Street.
At the stop sign, the tractors will turn left on Water Street/X-17 and stop at lunch host Wiele Motor Company for lunch, which is being provided by Fast City and Arctic Cat.
After lunch the tractors will cross Highway 92 and take X-17 north to G-36 where they will turn left and head west to Willow Street, the gravel road into Haskins, then right on to 223rd Street to Rusty and Angie Zook’s residence for the third and final break, which will be provided by Farmers Supply.
From there they will follow Vine Avenue north to Highway 22 then take Highway 22 east to River Junction to the Morgan farm, where door prizes will be given to the riders from this year’s numerous event sponsors.
This year’s route is 54 miles and will be traveling through Johnson, Louisa, Muscatine and Washington counties.
Ideal viewing locations for this year’s ride will be: along Devoe Street and Pioneer Road in Lone Tree between 8:25 and 9 a.m.; along Todd’s Ferry Road in Conesville between 10:15 and 10:45 a.m.; from the Riverside Casino and Resort Parking Lot from 3:15- 3:50 p.m.
Note the times are estimated and may vary slightly. However, the last tractor will have a sign, indicating the ride has passed.
