1925 - 2017

Bonnie Mae White Buzard, 92, a long-term resident of the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center, Mo., passed away peacefully with family by her side Dec. 20, 2017, at Excelsior Springs Hospital. Funeral services were officiated by John Howard, Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at Foster Funeral Chapels, Carrollton, Mo. Place of rest was in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bogard, Mo.

Bonnie was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Riverside, Iowa. She attended high school and college in Iowa City. She received a Bachelor of Arts in speech from the University of Iowa in 1943. After graduating, Bonnie taught speech and debate in Muscatine until marrying William Davis Buzard of Bogard, Mo. in 1949.

Bonnie and her husband settled in Montezuma, Iowa,where Dr. Buzard practiced veterinary medicine. Bonnie worked as an assistant in his practice and raised their four children.

Bonnie loved spending time with her family, canning vegetables and crocheting. She and her husband retired in Bentonville, Ark., in 1982.

She is survived by her four children: William Davis (Cinder) Buzard, Jr. of Spokane, Wash., George LeVann Buzard of Las Vegas, Nev., Dr. Robert Lee (Debra) Buzard of Kearney, Mo. and Sherresse Annette Buzard of Afton, Iowa; two grandchildren: Katherine Elizabeth Buzard of San Jose, Calif. and Benjamin Davis Buzard of Spokane, Wash.; and the many nieces and nephews who reside throughout the state of Missouri.

Bonnie is predeceased by her husband: William Davis Buzard, Sr.; her sister: Betty White Raak of Bakersfield, Calif.; and her grandson: Brian Robert Buzard of Kearney, Mo.
