ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Liberty Flames are off to a 5-3 start this football season, and are undefeated in Big South play, but former Golden Hawk Ben Fiordelise has had to watch this season from the sideline after suffering a broken foot earlier this year.

Fiordelise will be classified as a sophomore next year after receiving a medical redshirt for the 2016 season.

The 6’3” 300 lb guard/center saw time on the field goal unit last season and also entered the game on short yardage situations as a blocking tight end.

Fiordelise appreciates the opportunities he is getting at Liberty on and off the field.

“I really enjoy the atmosphere that Liberty has to offer, being the largest Christian college in the world,” he explained.

“The coaches are all very experienced and were all very good players in their careers before coaching. Not only are they great coaches, but they are great men of faith and can help develop players not only athletically, but spiritually.”
