ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Mid-Prairie school officials are expecting a big crowd for Monday night’s school board meeting.

At the meeting, the public will have their opportunity to voice their feelings on Superintendent Mark Schneider’s decision to allow Trent Yoder, who was convicted of exploitation of a minor 20 years ago, to volunteer in the schools.

School board President Jeremy Pickard said that the 7 p.m. meeting will be moved to the high school cafeteria to accommodate the crowd.

“Obviously with a public forum, you want to hear from as many people as possible,” Pickard said Monday.

During the public forum, people will be able to express their thoughts to the school board.

Following the public forum, the school board will take a vote of confidence in Schneider.

At a special board meeting on April 28, Schneider said he would resign effective June 30 if the board votes no confidence.

With so many people expected, Pickard said it was necessary to set some limits.
