Lowell G. Brenneman

1930 – 2017

Lowell G. Brenneman died on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 87 years. Funeral services were held Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. Pastor Don Patterson officiated. Burial was in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. A general memorial fund has been established.

Lowell Gordon Brenneman was born January 11, 1930 in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Ora and Gertrude (Yoder) Brenneman. He attended Woodland rural country school.

On August 13, 1950 Lowell was united in marriage to Lucille Swartzendruber at the Wellman Mennonite Church. He was a machinery dealer for 40 years.

Lowell was a member of the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church where he held many church offices and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed spending time with family, visiting with people, eating out and traveling.

Lowell is survived by two sons: Ronald (Nancy) Brenneman of Wellman, Lowell Gregory (Edwina) Brenneman of Swisher; four grandchildren: Amy (Nate) Fick, Caleb (Nancy) Brenneman, Seth Brenneman, Wyatt (Grace Sippy) Brenneman; five great-grandchildren: Simona, Andreas, Maria, Jonas and Markus; sister: Nita Erb of Kalona; brother: Clair (Faye) Brenneman of Palmer Lake, Colo.; and brother-in-law: Wayne Miller of Wellman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Lucille; sister: Audrey Miller; and brother-in-law: John Erb.

Yoder-Powell Funeral Home of Kalona is assisting the family.
