ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Iowa Mennonite put on an offensive show in its first home game of the season, a 10-0 victory over Highland on Thursday, April 13.

Cole Ours scored three goals and recorded three assists in Iowa Mennonite’s second win of the season. It had been nearly two years since IMS had scored more than five goals in a game and almost three years since the last double-digit effort.

“We did pretty well offensively, we could pretty much create a chance whenever we needed to,” said Ours. “(The keys were) just keeping control of the ball and making good passes."

Senior Jared Schlabaugh scored the first goal in the seventh minute on an IMS corner kick. Seth Danga scored on an assist from Ours and Reggie Borntrager found Ours to give IMS a 3-0 lead.

Isaiah Swantz scored, Ours and Danga each added a second goal to put the home team ahead 6-0 at the half.
