The Lone Tree Community Food Pantry is in need of some items. In particular they need cold breakfast cereal, peanut butter, pasta sauce, Macaroni and cheese dinners, pork & beans, canned fruit, snack products, dish soap, and bathroom products. Items may be left between the back doors if no one is at church when you wish to deliver.

The City of Lone Tree and the Lone Tree Community School are offering a swim bus. All area youth ages 8 and older are welcome. Ages 7 and under must be accompanied by a parent approved sitter age 12 or older.

Cost is $4 per day which includes bus ride and pool admittance.

The bus will leave the school parking lot at 12:15 p.m. Please do not drop your children off more that 15 minutes in advance because this area is not supervised. Children will be returned to the school parking lot at approximately 3:45 to 4 p.m. There will be one bus driver and one chaperone. All youth riding the bus to the pool will be required to ride the bus back to Lone Tree unless a parent or guardian is personally at the facility when the bus is ready to leave.

The Bus will run Monday through Thursday from July 31 through August 10. On nice weather days the bus will go to Muscatine Aquatic Center. On rainy days the bus will go to Mercer Pool in Iowa City. Bus driver and chaperone will decide based on weather for the day.

Permission forms must be filled out and returned to City Hall before your youth can ride. If any questions, call City Hall at 629-4615.
