The Lone Tree Lady Lions traveled to West Branch last Saturday for chance to compete against some of the best compeition in the area.
The Lady Lions went 0-4 on the day, dropping matches to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, West Branch, Prince of Peace and Winfield-Mount Union.
E-B-F dropped Lone Tree 2-0 (21-7, 21-12). Kasey Chown, Lexi Norris and Kylie Patterson each had one kill for the Lady Lions. Whitney Willoz had the lone ace during the match and was 6-6 from the service line.
West Branch won 2-0 (21-6, 21-10) over Lone Tree. Patterson had two kills for Lone Tree.
The closest match of the day came against Prince of Peace as the Lady Lions dropped it 2-0 (25-23, 25-19). The Lady Lions had 13 kills during the match, a high for the day as well.
Skylar Smith and Patterson each had four kills with Patterson converting four of her six attack attempts.
Chown had quite the match from the service line, scoring aces on four of her six successful serves.
Willoz collected 10 assists during the match and Alyssa Knock had one.
Winfield-Mount Union defeated Lone Tree 2-0 (21-8, 21-14). The Lady Lions had five kills during the match and were led by Patterson with two. Smith, Lily Miller and Chown each had one.
Lexi Norris and Willoz each had four digs.
The 0-4 day pushes the Lady Lions record to 2-6 on the season. They traveled to Montezuma High School on Aug. 28 for a tournament and travel to Iowa Mennonite on Aug. 30 for the beginning of their Southeast Iowa Super Conference schedule.
