NEW LONDON - Area teams were well represented on the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division All-Conference teams when selections were announced on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Highland led the way with two first team selections. Senior defensive specialist Kelsey Hora and sophomore hitter Alyson Stokes led the Huskies to a record of 22-12, a playoff win, and a third-place finish in the division. Hora finished the season with 335 digs, the third-highest total in the North division. Hora had the second-most successful serves, going 397-408 with 38 aces for the season. Stokes also had a solid season serving, finishing 254-271 with 37 aces. Stokes led the division with 50 solo blocks and finished sixth with 170 kills.

Elena Sieverding earned a spot on the first-team as well, leading Lone Tree to a record of 13-14 and a fourth-place finish in the North with a conference record of 5-3. The Lady Lions’ senior hitter finished third in the division with 237 kills, fourth, with 54 blocks, and seventh with 305 digs. She was 242-254 serving.

Iowa Mennonite’s senior setter Alijah Beatty earned a spot on the second team, leading IMS to wins in six out of the last 11 games to finish with a record of 10-17. Beatty was one of only four players in the division to average over five assists/set. She was 175-193 serving with 15 aces.

Liz Dodson was named second team all-conference as a utility player for Lone Tree. The senior led Lone Tree from the service line, finishing 329-353 with 36 aces. She was sixth in the division with 306 digs.

Junior Bailey Harmston earned second-team recognition as well, finishing eighth in the division with 157 kills and third with 43 solo blocks.

Junior Sydney Black and senior Amy Schnoebelen received honorable mention for the Huskies. Freshman Mia Graber and sophomore Suzanna Yoder received honorable mention for Iowa Mennonite. Juniors Zoie Simonsen and Riley Warson earned the honor for Lone Tree.

Erin Steffner was named Coach of the Year for Mediapolis, and Kara Brown was Player of the Year for the Bullettes.

The SEISC is represented at the State Tournament this year by teams from both the North and South divisions. Mediapolis defeated North Cedar in four sets to advance to the 2A quarterfinals, and Holy Trinity beat Iowa Valley in a 1A Regional final to advance to State as well.
