ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Brody Burton lined up for a 32-yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining in a 22-22 tie game between Highland and Lynnville-Sully. Talk about pressure.

The Hawks took a timeout to ice Burton and make him think about the field goal.

"Everyone was just talking to me and saying 'oh you got this, you got this.' I just said be quiet and don't talk to me right now, I want to focus so I don't mess this up," Burton said.

After the Huskies came out of the timeout, everything was perfect and Burton booted the 32-yard game winner in a 25-22 comeback win for Highland.

"It was the best feeling ever, amazing," he said.

The Huskies tied the game at 22 with 4:48 remaining on a 15-yard fade route from quarterback Trey Lasek to Mason McFarland. The two paired up again on the two-point conversion as Lasek found McFarland with a defender wrapped around his legs.

The Huskies then came up with a crucial defensive stop. Facing a 4th and one from their own 48 yard line, Lynnville-Sully originally lined up in a punt formation, but called a timeout. After the timeout Zack Lasek came up a big stop to give the Huskies the ball.

The Huskies trailed 22-8 midway through the third quarter after a Lynnville-Sully double pass caught them off guard. From there the Huskies rattled off 17 straight points, starting with a 72 yard touchdown rush from Trey Lasek.

The Huskies now move to 3-0 for the first time in over a decade. They travel to Lisbon (1-2) next Friday.
