Lone Tree lost their regional volleyball opener 3-1 to Morningstar Academy, ending their season.

A strong first set gave Lone Tree an early 1-0 lead, but Morningstar took the next three straight to move on in the postseason.

The Lady Lions got strong performances out of their freshmen. Kylie Patterson had 10 kills, Kasey Chown had seven kills and Alyssa Knock had 21 digs in the loss but had strong showings in their first postseason match.

As a team the Lady Lions had 32 kills. Patterson, Chown and Skylar Smith combined for 25 of the 32. Setter Whitney Willoz had a pair of kills and 22 assists on the night.

Willoz and Patterson each had 20 serves during the Tuesday night match and both went 19-20. Patterson had two aces and Willoz had four.

The Lady Lions close out their season with a 1-27 record. Their lone win came on Aug. 20 against Tri-County. Kylie Patterson finished as the team leader in kills at 55.

Willoz was the team leader in serve efficiency, going 211-225 on her serves with 37 aces. Willoz led the team with 134 assists.

Knock had 107 digs to lead the team. Patterson had 17 blocks to lead the team with Kasey Chown just one behind at 16.
