ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Mid-Prairie (1-6) at Davis County (2-5)

Kickoff at 7 p.m.

Last week: Mid-Prairie lost 13-7 to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Davis County lost 33-32 in overtime to Albia.

Notes: Both teams are out of playoff contention at this point in the season, but both are looking to add a win. Davis County is averaging about 24 points per game to Mid-Prairie’s 19.5. Both teams have common losses to E-B-F and Williamsburg. Both teams tend to favor the ground game, with Davis County led by Dreven Dekraii with 1,005 yards on 158 carries and Mid-Prairie led by Justin Schwartz with 683 yards on 146 carries.

Highland (5-2) at Cardinal (4-3)

Kickoff at 7 p.m.

Last week: Highland lost 14-0 to Durant and Cardinal lost 40-12 to Belle Plaine.

Notes: After starting 4-0 this season, Cardinal has been shut down offensively since district play began. Cardinal has put up just 18 points in three district games with losses to Pekin, Durant and Belle Plaine. Highland is coming off being shutout by Durant and will be looking to get back into the groove offensively. Highland will likely need to win out to make the playoffs as an at-large team.

Lone Tree (2-5) at Winfield-Mt. Union (1-7)

Kickoff at 7 p.m.

Last week: Lone Tree beat Tri-County 57-0 and Winfield-Mt. Union lost 50-6 to WACO.

Notes: The Wolves are giving up 56 points per game to opponents and Lone Tree will look to take advantage of a porous defense. WMU has given up 70-plus points four times this year, but did earn their first non-forfeit win in three seasons this year against Tri-County. Lone Tree is averaging about 5.4 yards per play this season and has 28 total touchdowns, led by Harmon Miller with 13 touchdowns accounted for.
