Monday’s Kalona City Council meeting was shortened with City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh with city employees working on a water main leak at Sixth Street and H Avenue. Tabled was further discussion of efforts to control erosion on Salverson Creek.
The council approved up to $23,000 for resurfacing the inner lining of the municipal swimming pool. The council was told that it had gotten to the point that city workers could not adequately repair the flaking.
Approval was given to resolutions to temporarily closing Fifth Street for the Kalona Celebration Saturday, as well as closing Fifth Street and B Avenue for the Sept. 2 car show.
