June 25

Caller in Riverside reports receiving a fraudulent $100 bill. The bill will be turned over to the proper entities.

Caller in Riverside reports the theft of cans and bottles. Cited Derek Jerome VanDyke, 39, of Riverside for theft fifth degree.

Caller reports a suspicious white male is walking around downtown Kalona. Last seen near the post office. Spoke with the subject who was new to town. Should be no further problem.

Reports Thomas Milam is near his property in West Chester revving the motor on his four-wheeler. Ongoing issue. Arrested Thomas Oden Milam, 56, of West Chester for interference with official acts, disorderly conduct and assault on a peace officer.

June 26

Caller reports a dog locked in a car at the casino for over half hour. Male party did come out once and yell at the dog to stop barking but went back inside. Responded and made contact with the subjects. They were given five minutes to cash out their winnings and leave with the dog.

Officer reports being out with subject in the 100 block of E Avenue, Kalona. Subject was located and wanted to be taken back to the hospital. Transported subject to Washington County Hospital.

Caller reports a possible disabled vehicle at Highway 22 and Hickory. Female operator was just pulled over to use her phone. No problem.

Caller in Kalona reports fireworks going off non-stop. Officer was unable to locate any fireworks going off.

The Well in Wellman reports an intoxicated male. Caller has taken his keys as he is not able to drive. He has threatened people inside with a gun and possibly has knives in his vehicle. Subject had walked to his sister’s residence. She took his keys. Responded and advised if he return to the Well he will be arrested for trespass.
