ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Highland's Trey Lasek took a 75-yard designed quarterback rush to the endzone during their 18-8 win over Alburnett last week. Here's a look at how it happened and what set the play up for success.

Pre-snap

Highland has two receivers to each side, running back Cole Adamson aligned left of Lasek and five down lineman. Both sets of receivers are drawing immediate safety help in the passing game.

Initial reaction

Right after the snap Trey Lasek fakes a handoff to Adamson, who comes across across his body. All three Alburnett linebackers commit to the run at this point and start to crash their gaps.

Highland's LT Zack Lasek and LG Isaac Black both start to pull right away to the left. Highland wide receivers on the outside start to run double bubble screens.

Lasek runs the ball

Lasek pulls the fake from Adamson and starts to follow Zack Lasek and Black up the hole. The left side of the line does a great job of washing everyone down away from the hole. Black gets a great chip on a defensive end coming up field and Zack Lasek gets a nice kick block.

The two safeties are drawn away from the play by the possibility of the bubble screen and that gives Lasek enough time to get up the field between them and eventually outrun them for the score.
