ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Daniel “Dan” Eldon Britsch, 48, of Parnell, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 8, 2018. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial service for be held Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Iowa City. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Daniel was born Sept. 16, 1969, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Jerry and Jane (Kibling) Britsch. Daniel was raised in Washington, Iowa, graduating from Washington High School in 1988. He attended Kirkwood Community College and graduated with an associate degree in industrial maintenance.

While working for Burlington Northern Railroad, he met and married the love of his life, Wanda Jackson, on Dec. 31, 1998. To this union three children were born.

Daniel enjoyed cooking for everyone. If you left the dinner table hungry it was your own fault. He was a devoted father and husband. His family gave him great joy. Daniel was an avid Coca Cola collector as well as enjoying gun collecting. He also enjoyed watching football, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. Daniel had a great influence on his family. He helped his wife, Wanda, overcome her fear of driving after they had began dating.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife Wanda; three children: Jonathon, Robert and Mary, all of the family home; siblings: Teresa Patterson of Venice, Fla., Sherry Christensen of Kalona, Elizabeth Johnson of Venice, Fla., Jeffrey Britsch of Kalona and Michael (Jean) of Indianola; mother-in-law: Bonnie Tousley of Douglas, Wyo.; brothers-in-law: Robert Jackson of Lamoille, Nev., Randy (Jessie) Jackson of Elko, Nev.; and sister-in-law: Wendy Hill of Douglas, Wyo.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and brother-in-law: Kenny Jackson.
