ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Editor:

I’ve thought long and hard about what I saw in The News on the opinion page published on Sept. 27.

For a while now, it has been absolutely obvious to me that the content and point of view of The News has taken a hard left turn. This is definitely to the detriment of fair and accurate reporting.

Regarding that editorial “cartoon” that promotes the story of an allegation made about Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh that was only newsworthy because of its sensationalism and the usefulness to the progressive left Democrat political wing in destroying him.

That “cartoon” is not funny or humorous in the least.

Two things are important here and the first is I am not referring in any negative way to my friends and neighbors that consider themselves Democrats.

I am referring to the power games played at the level of the entrenched Washington, D.C., elite. And second, I have always worked to support and get justice for victims of sexual assault.

Allegations without supportive and corroborating evidence can be made by anyone, but to let them stand without scrutiny to determine their veracity is irresponsible.

You have illustrated your willingness to trash traditional American values of fair play and justice.
