ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Cindy Miller has stepped down as Mid-Prairie’s volleyball coach after six seasons at the helm.

“I felt the time has come for my family and professional obligations to come first,” Miller said.

Miller was 59-123 in six seasons of play, starting with the 2013 season. She coached for two seasons prior to that at Iowa Mennonite with a 32-34 record.

Miller thanked those that had put hard work into the Mid-Prairie volleyball program during her time with the team.

“I want to thank everyone that I have worked alongside these past years. Especially the middle school coaches and the wonderful volunteers who made our home game nights possible by keeping the book, running the clock and line judging,” she said.

Miller said she’ll miss coaching, but has some new things on her mind.

“I will miss coaching but have many things on my bucket list yet to accomplish and can’t wait to get started.”

Mid-Prairie Activities Director Tyler Hotz was thankful of the hard work Miller has put into the program.

“I have enjoyed working with coach Miller of the past year and wish her the best as she transitions into the next stage of her life,” he said.

Hotz said Mid-Prairie will advertise for the position and then a committee of Mid-Prairie coaches, community members and players will interview candidates and give a recommendation to Hotz.
