Lone Tree defeated HLV Friday night 39-24 in their toughest test of the season so far.
The night started off on the wrong foot as HLV took back the opening kickoff for a touchdown. From there Lone Tree settled down and started to move the ball.
The Lions stepped up big in the fourth quarter and grew their 25-18 lead at the start of the quarter to a 39-24 victory.
A key moment for Lone Tree came in the fourth quarter with a fourth and two play that saw a pass from running back Bryce Houser to Keegan Edwards for a first down. This set up Lone Tree from their final touchdown that put any hope of a HLV comeback at rest.
Three different Lone Tree players threw the ball on Friday with quarterback Harmon Miller going 7-14 for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Miller also added 12 rushes for 28 yards and a touchdown to the game.
Lone Tree will be at home for the second week in a row and will play Springville on Friday.
