August 10, 2017 Mid-Prairie plans auction fundraiser

Friday, Aug. 18, will be Mid-Prairie Football annual player auction and gator scrimmage. This is the primary fundraiser for the football program and helps tremendously.

Each football player will be auctioned off by Dwight Duwa for four hours of labor. All the proceeds go back to the football program.

Following is a list of items purchased in the last school year from this fundraiser:

• Team meals on Thursday nights for 30 varsity players and eight coaches.

• Team meals on road trips.

• New headset system ($3,000).

• New middle school game jerseys ($3,500).

• Tackle ring dummies ($1,000).

• Charter bus for long road trip.

• Non-contracted coaches stipend for five coaches.

Coaches want to purchase the following if enough money is raised during this fundraiser:

• Team meals on Thursday nights and road trips.

• Fifteen sideline jackets.

• A sideline tent.

• Hudl sideline filming system that allows coaches to see film instantly on sideline.

• Non-contracted coaches stipend for six coaches.

• Seventy-five new varsity home jerseys.

The Mid-Prairie football players and coaches greatly appreciate your support and are willing to work for four hours on any project you need done.

The schedule for Friday, Aug. 18, will be:

5 p.m. Booster Club meal.

4:30-6 p.m. volleyball scrimmage.

6:15 p.m. Cross country introductions on track.

6:30 p.m. Player auction of football players on the track.

7:30 p.m. Football scrimmage vs. Iowa City Regina. Admission to the scrimmage is Gatorade.
