ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Henry A. Mullet passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 94 years. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. Pastor Don Patterson, Pastor Steve Nelson and Pastor Dennis Mullet will officiate. Burial will be in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona where the family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church and Iowa City Hospice.

Henry A. Mullet was born May 6, 1923 in Wayne County, Ohio, the son of Absalom and Fannie (Shetler) Mullet. He moved to the Kalona community in 1947. On August 28, 1951 Henry was united in marriage to Eudora Christner at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church. He owned and operated Mullet Trucking for 41 years, and later cleaned windows for Robert Erb and Gary Erb. Henry was a member of the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church and Coffee Club. He enjoyed putting together puzzles.

Henry is survived by his wife Eudora of Kalona; five daughters: Sharon (Jerry) Hollar of Harrisonburg, Va., Melody (James L.) Miller of Kalona, Karen Mullet of Sarasota, Fla., Lori (Neal) Eash of Knoxville, Tenn., Rachel (Ron) Ross of Sarasota, Fla.; 10 grandchildren: Jeremy Jones, Zach Hollar, Jennifer Thurman, Tristan Miller, Austin Miller, Sara Wenger, Dustin Eash, Aaron Eash, Corey Ross, Taylor Nicely; 12 great-grandchildren: Solomon and Mara Thurman, Elijah and Asher Miller, Easton, Audrey and Sydney Miller, Elliott and Violet Wenger, Cora and Caroline Eash, Eden Nicely; and two brothers: Ervin Mullet of LaGrange, Ind., Jacob Mullet of Millersburg, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step father: John Miller; three sisters: Anna Weaver, Katie Yoder, Ella Yoder; two brothers: Dan Mullet, Simon Mullet; and a step sister Ella Stutzman.
