ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

It looked for a moment late in the first half of Thursday’s game that Mid-Prairie had an opening to find their way back into the their game with Regina at the Mid-Prairie Soccer Complex.

Thanks to a handball in the box, Mid-Prairie was awarded a penalty kick, and their first shot at goal, trailing 2-0.

Addie Rath placed the ball on the spot, took her run up, and sent the goalie diving the wrong way. However, Rath’s penalty flew past the right post of goal and the chance went begging.

Soon after, the Golden Hawks’ defense, which had held strong for 23 minutes after allowing a pair of quick Lauren Garde goals, let in a third as Claire Gaarde’s shot careened in of the crossbar to give the Regals a 3-0 halftime lead on the way to a 10-0 win.
