ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Riverside City Councilman Andy Rodgers goes through background materials thoroughly before City Council meetings.

Monday night he asked that approval of a check for $15,520 be pulled from the list of expenditures the council approves as part of its consent agenda.

The check was for Interstate Power and Light Company, a division of Alliant Energy, for new street lights on Galileo Drive.

The consent agenda is one of the first things the council approves at each of its meetings.

Rodgers noted that the council had not yet approved a resolution for the streetlights. That resolution was later on the agenda.

The council did approve the resolution, and Interstate Power and Light Company will get its money for lighting the street that is under development.
