The deadline to pre-register for the Sept. 12 school elections is Friday, Sept. 1 at 5 p.m. The worry-free postmark deadline for registration forms submitted by mail would be Monday, Aug. 28. Alternatively, any person who is eligible to vote may register in person on election day by completing a voter registration application, making written oath, and providing proof of both identity and residence. Registration on or before Sept. 1 is strongly encouraged to avoid delays at the polling place.
Iowa residents may register at their County Auditor’s Office or any driver’s license station.Individuals who are currently registered to vote in their county, but who have moved within that county, may change their address at the polls on election day with proper identification, but are strongly encouraged to register the change prior to Sept. 1.
Anyone having questions should contact their County Auditor’s Office.
