1938 - 2018

Pauline Marie Gingerich, 80, of Washington, formally of Wellman, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at the McCreedy Home in Washington. Funeral services have been set for 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Pastor Joseph and Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharon Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers a general memorial in the name of Pauline Marie Gingerich has been established.

Pauline was born Dec. 1, 1938, in Columbus Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Rodney and Eva (Wagner) Swailes. She attended Frog Pond School and graduated from Columbus Junction High School. She was united in marriage to Orval D. Gingerich on Sept. 23, 1962.

She was a faithful member of the Marian Avenue Baptist Church, Jolly 60s group, bus captain on the Lone Tree bus route for the church and cooked for the bus drivers. Pauline was employed with Owens Brush, Oral B in Iowa City for 36 years and later Kalona Plastics.

Survivors include her daughter: Mary Feeney of Iowa City; son: Brian Gingerich of Iowa City; sister: Ruth Lukins (Dick) of Columbus Junction; and granddaughter: Lillianna Gingerich-Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Orval; two brothers: Raymond and Henry; and sister: Eveyln Gingerich.
