ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

After only scoring nine points in the first half, Iowa Mennonite had a strong offensive second half but it was not enough to come out with a win against WACO in the SEISC shootout.

The Warriors took the first possession to score. Iowa Mennonite didn’t get on the board until Yoder drove into a packed lane where she was fouled, making one of her free throws.

WACO’s Kristen Conelly splashed back-to-back 3-pointers. The Warriors continued to make points where Iowa Mennonite couldn’t, and the half ended with Iowa Mennonite far behind 33-9.

Iowa Mennonite seemed more prepared after their half-time break. The Warriors faced foul trouble, putting Avery Blauvelt on the line where she went 2-2. Iowa Mennonite went on a 10-0 run in the third quarter that ended with a score of 43-24 in favor of WACO.

In the fourth, Iowa Mennonite continued to push on offense and a solidified defense kept WACO’s scoring down. Iowa Mennonite outscored the Warriors in the second half 29-25. WACO finished the game on top 58-38.
