WASHINGTON

As of Sept. 27, G & R Miller Construction has completed their portion of the transformation of the Foster Woods County Park Pond. The grass seed planted is even beginning to sprout! Once nature adds water we plan to add fish, and are confident that this pond will return to its original popularity. We are proud of their work and ours, and thus encourage people to drive by and take a look.

The original pond was constructed in 1966, all part of an incredible donation by the Foster Family after whom the park was named. According to the locals, this pond was quite popular as a place for families to go and fish. Unfortunately, as time went forward, issues with the pond developed to include the fish there dying too frequently and others associated with water stagnation. Of course, public use suffered dramatically as a result.

Careful evaluation (and the school of hard knocks) led us to believe that our best odds of rectifying this issue would take significant steps. A plan was developed and brought to the area residents, whom stated overwhelming support.
