Huge crowds enjoy ideal weather at Fall Festival
It couldn’t have been a better weekend at the annual Kalona Fall Festival.
Crowds packed into and around the Kalona Historical Village to see old world demonstrations, listen to some music, shop and of course, eat as much food as possible.
As crowds walked around the grounds, they got the chance to walk inside the Village’s newest building currently under construction: The Wahl Museum.
Jan Ferry, who’s on the Historical Village board, said the museum would reflect the history of the pioneer villages that used to surround Kalona.
“We want to create a mini street scene, and put our artifacts in scenes in the stores to give more meaning and create connections,” Ferry said. “This building, when it’s all done, will tell the story of Kalona and the pioneer settlements around it, and the businesses that were in them.”
