ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

Mid-Prairie School District - At the start of the new school year for the Mid-Prairie School District, the district was faced with the massive task of handling the district’s classroom shiftings and hitting the ground running as best as possible.

About two weeks into the new arrangement of the East and West Elementaries, one thing has stood out to the administration across the board.

“The cooperation of everyone involved,” Superintendent Mark Schneider said. “Staff members were very cooperative, teachers were cooperative. They worked together.”

Schneider said he got a chance to witness this cooperation first hand during the first few days of the new school year visiting the buildings.

“I was just amazed at the level of cooperation. Eveybody seemed to be going above and beyond to try to make things work.”

Mid-Prairie West Elementary Principal Bill Poock said that cooperation between the adults in the building is something he’s very proud of and says the kids have managed to settle in quite nicely early on.

“Kids seemed very happy. They’re starting to settle in with their new classmates and teachers have done a great job of starting to build relationships in their classrooms,” Poock said.
