ARTICLE DESCRIPTION:

The Washington County Board of Supervisors Tuesday added a new subdivision in rural Washington County. The Hickory Hill Subdivision, west of Washington, is owned by Daniel Paul and John Thomas Wheelman and was sought for agricultural residential purposes within the family, the board was told. Of the 11.59 acres, 1.50 acre is public road right of way. The area is zoned by both agricultural and agriculture-residential.

In other business, the board:

Approved a personnel change for the county Public Health Department for Danielle Bombei, going from full-time to casual part-time, as a Home Health Care Aide

The Board also learned meetings and discussions regarding a new building and/or site for the county communications office had resulted in new suggestions and possible changes in what the facility will be like. The county expects to have its new, state-mandated equipment installed for use sometime in 2019.

Ongoing discussions include a new facility, with suggestions ranging from using the current site near the downtown courthouse to remodeling and use of an existing building at the county-owned Orchard Hill complex. The complex includes the county jail and sheriff’s office and also has sufficient land to accommodate an entirely new building.
